About
I’m Latoya, a passionate educator and science enthusiast with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a minor in Psychology from The University of the West Indies, Mona (2015–2018). My academic foundation is rooted in both the sciences and the social sciences, which allows me to bring a unique and well-rounded perspective to my teaching and tutoring methods.
I specialize in tutoring Mathematics and Accounting, and I’m committed to helping students build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and improve their academic performance. My approach blends patience, clarity, and structure — making learning accessible and engaging for students at various levels.
My educational journey began at Mona High School, where I pursued a Science and Business track (2008–2013), followed by The Queen’s School (2013–2015), where I further honed my focus in the biological sciences. During these formative years, I held leadership roles such as Student Prefect and was actively involved in extracurricular activities including the Tennis Club — experiences that helped shape my commitment to discipline, mentorship, and holistic development.
I continue to explore opportunities where I can make a meaningful impact in education, whether through one-on-one tutoring, academic mentoring, or student-focused initiatives.
The tutor was clear in explaining everything, but I felt like some things could've been covered a little more in-depth. Still, the session was engaging.
